Check out the top tier teams, the contenders, and the dark horses entering the 2016 NVIDIA Challenger Series...
NVIDIA CONSOLE DIVISION
THE DIRTY DOZEN - THE ONES TO WATCH
With all cars running default setups, the field is far more open in the NVIDIA Challenger Series with success all coming down to driver ability rather than engineering under the hood. As such, any of the teams above have the potential to dominate.
Team Redline come in with a strong background in sim racing, a reputation to live up to, and an eagerness to prove their worth in Project CARS. In response, SDL Motorsport, BAM, TX3, and Unity Motors all enter the 2016 season with multiple rosters - mixing up both familiar faces with brand-new recruits. As was seen last year, consistency is key so it'll still be a team effort to secure valuable Challenger Points over both Splits.
Team Shark return once again with revenge on their minds and a refurbished Starlux team join 2015 veterans Viking and STD-RS.
With over 50 five-man teams and 100+ smaller teams also competing though the 2016 season is looking extremely competitive. Is there a dark horse amongst them that'll take the glory? Is driver skill enough for some of the well-known drivers? Or will we see some big shakeups in the Summer Split that'll lead to big changes going into the Autumn? We'll find out soon starting April 22nd!

NVIDIA PC DIVISION
FRESH BLOOD
With many of the Tier 1 teams also fielding teams in the PC Division, we thought we'd highlight two new leading contenders instead - TSA Racing and Revolution Sim Racing...
Having filled out the podium at last year's ESports Live event at EGX in Birmingham last year, and with a winning driver finishing on the Time Attack Championship leaderboard at Autosport International in January, TSA Racing come sponsored by The Sixth Axis gaming website and are multiple-time champions in various rFactor leagues. With a determination and skills to succeed, TSA Racing have the potential to be strong contenders this year. |
From the ashes of The Gentleman's Club rise a brand-new team of prominent and competent WMD members. With Alpha and Bravo teams featuring Miagi, The Doctor 46, Cluck, and ESL YouTuber TonyR, Revolution Sim Racing know Project CARS inside and out from their time helping to develop the game so will be ones to look out for in the coming season. |
